UK's Top Train Games on iOS in Q2 2024: A Sensor Tower Data Analysis

As the second quarter of 2024 wrapped up, train game enthusiasts in the United Kingdom continued to engage with their favorite locomotive-themed apps on iOS. Sensor Tower's latest data offers an insight into how these games fared during the period.

Train Station 2: Steam Empire by Pixel Federation Games saw a peak in revenue in early April with approximately $14K, followed by fluctuations and a gentle decline to around $6K by the end of June. Downloads followed a similar downward trend, starting at roughly 1.4K in the first week of April and descending to just over 400 by the quarter's close. Weekly active users notably decreased from around 12.5K in early April to approximately 6.7K in the last week of June.

Budge Studios' Thomas & Friends: Go Go Thomas experienced a steady revenue stream, peaking at $1.6K in the final week of June. Downloads, however, dipped to their lowest at 334 in the same period, with weekly active users declining from around 1.7K to 1.3K throughout the quarter.

Another title by Budge Studios, Thomas & Friends Minis, showed a more stable pattern. Revenue remained under $1K for most of the quarter, with weekly active users hovering between 800 and 1K. Downloads varied slightly, with a notable spike to 561 in early June before dropping back down to around 438 by the quarter's end.

The newcomer Train Miner: Idle Railway Game from AI Games FZ, which launched earlier in the year, saw an impressive spike in downloads to over 13K in the first week of May, though this enthusiasm waned to just under 2K by the end of June. Revenue grew to a peak of $1K in early May but settled at $474 by the quarter's end. Weekly active users peaked at over 23K in early May before a gradual decrease to around 17.6K.

Lastly, the minimalist Mini Metro by Dinosaur Polo Club maintained a consistent but modest revenue throughout the quarter, with the highest point at $554 in mid-May. Downloads remained low, with peaks not surpassing 122, and weekly active users demonstrated a slight decline from 581 in early April to 445 by late June.
